Terms used across these articles

Creative psychology draws on specific concepts that appear repeatedly. These definitions reflect how each term is used in this publication specifically - not always how they appear in academic literature.

The gap between knowing a concept and recognising it mid-process is where most creative blocks actually live.
Cognitive inhibition
The mental process that suppresses competing thoughts or impulses during focused creative work. Too little leads to distraction; too much leads to rigid thinking that can't make lateral connections.
Incubation period
The phase between active problem engagement and insight. The brain continues processing during rest, which is why solutions sometimes arrive during unrelated activities rather than during deliberate effort.
Evaluative pressure
The internal or external sense of being judged during the generative phase of creative work. Research consistently links early evaluation to reduced output quantity and, often, reduced quality.
Divergent thinking
Generating multiple possible responses to an open-ended problem. Distinct from convergent thinking, which narrows toward a single correct answer. Both are necessary at different stages of creative work.
Est. 2021

Bonuswincenter has been publishing on creative psychology since 2021 - one focused subject, examined carefully over time.

What this publication covers

Each article targets a specific mechanism - not broad advice on being more creative, but the actual psychological processes that shape how creative work starts, stalls, and resumes. The focus is on what can be observed and examined, not what sounds encouraging.
